Individual sessions last 50 minutes.
Family sessions (caregiver and young child) also last 50 minutes.
Initial couple’s sessions usually last 75 minutes, with follow-up sessions usually lasting 50 minutes, depending upon the needs of the couple.
I do not accept insurance. However, if your plan allows you to go out-of-network, I can write you a Super Bill, so that you may seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
The fee for a 50-minute session is $195. Venmo and Zelle are accepted.
Payment is due at the session, and a 48-hour cancellation policy is upheld
Every client’s needs are different.
It can be helpful at the beginning of therapy to schedule and attend weekly sessions. This supports building the therapeutic relationship and creating consistency in the work.
If a client is in a higher-need situation, we can schedule sessions twice per week.
Some clients with lower needs at the time prefer to come bi-weekly.
I do not recommend scheduling sessions less frequently than bi-weekly for clients new to therapy. Clients with a substantial amount of experience with therapy sometimes schedule sessions less frequently after the therapeutic relationship has been established.
Clients seen in outpatient psychotherapy are assumed to be responsible for their day-to-day functioning. With this in mind, I attempt to operate my practice in a way that is responsible to client needs, encouraging of client autonomy, and respectful of my limits as both a care-provider and a parent of young children.
Therefore, I am not ordinarily available for crisis calls that occur outside of scheduled appointments. However, exceptions to this policy may be made at my discretion.
If you are having a true mental health emergency, please go to your nearest emergency room, or call 911
I check my voicemail and secure email messages regularly during my business hours, and will attempt to return client calls or emails within 24 hours on a weekday, and 48 hours on a weekend.
I take vacation time throughout the year with my family to support my own needs and to be sure that I am well-resourced to help others. During vacation times I am not available, but have a back-up therapist available for non-emergency issues.
Often, clients who experience regular crises and who need immediate support do best working with a therapist who is in a group practice, rather than private practice. In a group practice, a client may be able to see whichever therapist is on-call for their current crisis.
I do not work individually with children and adolescents.
All sessions are provided virtually (telehealth) on a HIPAA-compliant platform.
Please look over my website to begin with. If you have questions about my work and whether we might be a good fit for working together, I encourage you to reach out to me via my secure email or leave me a confidential voice message.
I offer a free, brief phone consultation for potential new clients. This is the best way to determine if it seems like a good therapeutic match, and is required before scheduling an initial, in-person session together.
